Radiothon!!!
December 10, 2009 by Elizabeth · Leave a Comment
Radiothon officially starts tomorrow, Friday, December 11th at 6am and runs until Sunday, December 13th at 1pm! Check it out by listening to 93.1 WIBC – and check out the website for a list of prize packages by going to www.wibcradiothon.org. Then, when the time comes, bid on your favorite auction package by calling in and talking to one of our volunteers!
And please bear with me as I answer your requests to volunteer for bellringing or Toy Shop. I’ll be at the WIBC studio in the Emmis Communications building on Monument Circle on Friday and all weekend (stop by and say hi!) but I’ll make things easy for you…
If you’re interested in bellringing, check out www.indykettle.org for the contact information of the Kettle Coordinator for the area you want to help in!
And for Toy Shop – sign up online to become a volunteer and peruse the shift opportunities. Sign up for the ones you’d like to help with and I’ll be in touch on Monday!
Whew. Busy weekend ahead, but with a Christmas Goal of $3 Million, money used to keep our community programs up and running to help those in need, it’s all worth it and YOU are a crucial part of that.

Gearing up for Radiothon!
December 3, 2009 by Elizabeth · Leave a Comment
I’m sure that, at some point, you’ve listened to a radiothon, or watched a telethon and seen the volunteers in the phone bank – the people answering the phones, taking down donor information, and thanking them for their generous contributions. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be one of those volunteers?
If you’re over the age of 18, and if you can find some time to spare sometime between 6am on Friday, December 11th and 1pm on Sunday, December 13th – this may be the volunteer opportunity for you!
Sign up as a Volunteer to view the shifts that are still open, and to sign up for a slot! If you’re already signed up as a volunteer, login at www.myvolunteerpage.com, send me an email, or give me a call. (This also works if you’re not already signed up as a volunteer!)
Imagine it – right downtown, smack dab in the middle of the city – Monument Circle – protected from the cold by the walls of the Emmis Communications building – knowing that your gift of time is playing a large part in ensuring the survival of community programs that feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and provide for the needy…
