Craft Show – Saturday!

“How beautiful a day can be when kindness touches it.” ~George Alliston
Tomorrow you’re in for a treat.
Gorgeous weather (high of 81, sunny, a couple afternoon clouds), a Saturday, last day of May…
And a craft show/flea market! The Johnson County Corps is holding a craft show fundraiser tomorrow from 10am-5pm at their Corps (located at 325 Market Plaza, Greenwood, IN 46142).
Now, I know a lot of you miss seeing Crissy as often as you were used to, and that seeing her at the occassional event just isn’t cutting it – so let me tell you this – she’ll be at the craft show all day tomorrow! She’ll be selling Salvation Army t-shirts (“Homelessness Bites” and “Red Shield Rally”) at a booth and I’m pretty sure she’d love to see you.
But that’s not all – (like my use of the ever-so-popular infomercial tactic?) – the one and only Jeff Stanger (Development Director) will be in a booth right beside her selling books he’s written! If you see him, make sure you let him know that you know that he lost the Blog War. Read up on him here.
So basically, if you’re in the area, stop by and say hi! It’s a fantastic cause (as you well know) and it’ll be so nice outside, why not enjoy it???

This week…
Yesterday (Monday) was a holiday, so I’m going to go ahead and guess that you knew what to celebrate. Hopefully you had a chance to have the quintessential cookout/pool party! But if, for some reason, you missed out on the celebration of Memorial Day, here are a few things you can look forward to this week:
- Tuesday, May 27th – Body Painting Arts Festival
- Wednesday, May 28th - National Senior Health and Fitness Day
- Thursday, May 29th – End of the Middle Ages Day
- Friday, May 30th – My Bucket’s Got a Hole in it Day
- Saturday, May 31st – National Macaroon Day
- Sunday, June 1st – Dare Day
To get a jump-start on tomorrow’s festivities, head over here. And if you’re more of a planner than that, check out this link for more information on End of the Middle Ages Day!

“It is not always the same thing to be a good man and a good citizen. ” ~Aristotle
Come on over to the Walmart located on 96th St. in Fishers and help The Salvation Army raise money to send children in need to camp this summer! We’ll be there from 3pm-6pm so you can stop by before rush hour hits, or on your way home! It takes $72 dollars to send one child to camp for a week to experience all that it has to offer.
Can’t make it to Walmart today – you can donate online anytime, or find out more information, by clicking here.
I’ll see you out there – rain or shine!

“The kids needed something to do… It was no more complicated than that.” ~The Salvation Army
Sunday, May 11th begins a very special week. Yes, it’s Mother’s Day too, but it’s also the first day of National Salvation Army Week! You better believe we’ve got a few things up our sleeves…
If you’re in the Indianapolis area and would like to know more about our Operation Compassion program, visit the open house on Tuesday, May 13th from 10am-2pm! Delana will be out at our warehouse (1426 W. 29th St) and see a packing in process! We might even put you to work assembling care packages for soldiers serving overseas! For more information about the open house, click here!
And on Thursday, May 15th – Ramp To Camp will be taking place at the Walmart located at 96th St. and I-69 from 3pm-6pm! Ramp To Camp is a fundraiser put on by The Salvation Army (along with Two Men and a Truck and 107.9 the Track) to send area kids to camp! It takes $72 for one child to get the chance to experience hiking, swimming, fishing and more at Hidden Falls Camp. For more information – click here!
Well, I hope to see you at these events! Come support The Salvation Army and your local community!
If you’re not in Indianapolis, click here to see what’s going on in an Indiana city near you!
