Monday Again?

March 31, 2008 by Elizabeth · Leave a Comment

“Monday is the key day of the week.” ~Gaelic Proverb

It’s Monday again! I know, who likes Mondays, right? But as I sit here writing this, it’s well into the afternoon which means that Monday is almost over! And since you’re reading this after I write it, then it’s even later in the day for you so…

I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this.

But in all honesty, Monday’s aren’t so bad. My Monday was hectic, but not in a bad way. You know how sometimes things from the week before sneak up on you on Mondays. I managed to get it all done and on to stuff for this week!

On that note, let’s jump into the upcoming holidays!

  • Monday, March 31 – Tater Day
  • Tuesday, April 1 – One Cent Day
  • Wednesday, April 2 – International Children’s Book Day
  • Thursday, April 3 – Find A Rainbow Day
  • Friday, April 4 – Walk Around Things Day
  • Saturday, April 5 – National Read A Roadmap Day
  • Sunday, April 6 – Sorry Charlie Day

Older Adult Spring Luncheon Success!

“The purpose of a human life is to serve and to show compassion and the will to help others.” ~Albert Schweitzer

Caps off to another successful Older Adult Spring Luncheon! I joined 45 wonderful Salvation Army volunteers to help serve at the Older Adult Spring Luncheon down at the fairgrounds. Over 500 senior citizens from across the state showed up to partake in the fun!

We couldn’t have done it without you, Volunteers (you know who you are…)! Thank you for your time and your help. I hope to see all of you there again for the Older Adult Christmas Luncheon in December!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Make Up Your Own Holiday Day…

March 26, 2008 by Elizabeth · Leave a Comment

“If I need a cause for celebration, or a comfort I can use to ease my mind, I rely on my imagination and I dream of an imaginary time.” ~Billy Joel

I told you on Monday that when Wednesday (Make Up Your Own Holiday Day) came around, I’d let you in on what my holiday is for today! I was talking this over with my roomate who begged me to make my holiday her birthday.  Convenient, actually, because today really is her birthday!

So, in celebration of her, I declare my holiday today to be My Roomate’s Birthday Day! But what does that entail, you’re wondering? I’ll tell you. It involves present unwrapping, food, cake, family and friends. You know – the usual. So in an effort to not miss out on any more of this wonderful holiday, I’m off to celebrate!

Just a heads-up if you haven’t already heard – there’s a nasty stomach flu going around now! It’s time to up the hand washing, vitamin C and sleep.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you…
