Happy as a clam…

Something about this quote just struck me. I mean, isn’t it so true how different things make different people happy? Take, for example, my roomate and myself. Both of us work and both of us decided there were things in life worth saving up money for – things that we don’t necessarily need, but would be nice to have and would make us happy.

Well readers, I have a suggestion – just an idea – something to think about. You’ve all been hearing my stories, volunteer information and thoughts for awhile now, I’d like to hear yours! If you’re interested, I’d love to have “guest bloggers” post every now and again – and you could be the guest! You could write about anything. It could be about a funny or particularly meaningful volunteer experience, something you’re passionate or knowledgeable about, or just a story you’d like to share. It also wouldn’t have to be very long – just a paragraph or two unless you wanted to make it longer! Read more

Better late than never – or so says the old cliche! Let’s test that hypothesis…

August. This month is quickly coming to a close, but wouldn’t you love to really understand what makes August, August? Named for Augustus, the first Roman Emperor, this month was one of great importance in the year 8 BC. During his rule, many of his most important accomplishments as Emperor fell in this month - including the fall of Alexandria.

The return…

I cleaned my room a few days ago. See, my brother was arriving at the airport late in the night and instead of my parents having to drive all that way, I picked him up and he stayed the night at my apartment. This facilitated the necessity of cleaning my room.
